Some random cute pics....

Enjoy!! :)
Awake time is often not entirely successful
Sweet girls...occasionally in bows
Tutus galore! (Courtesy of my aunt Julie and uncle John)
Hannah and Riley snuggling. Hannah, fortunately, has opted not to terrorize or attack the babies. We're EXTREMELY proud of how well she, Murphy and Kaia are adjusting!

2.5 month pediatric visit

Well, at about 11 weeks, our girls are definitely growing!! Here are the latest stats from our appointment this past week:
Harper:
weight - 12 lbs, 12 oz (75th percentile)
height - 24 inches (90th percentile)
head circumference - 40 cm (80th percentile)
Riley:
weight - 9 lbs, 3.2 oz (2nd percentile)
height - 21 1/2 inches (2nd percentile)
head circumference - 38.9 cm (50th percentile)
Both girls are doing well, though Riley's still struggling with what we think is reflux, so we're trying her on a trial of Prevacid to see if that helps. Both girls also have a little bit of thrush, so are on medicine for that as well. Other than that though, everyone is doing great! It's amazing how different there are already, not only in terms of physique, but also personality:
Harper is generally pretty mellow, and often opts for a nice nap despite our many attempts to keep her up during "awake time." She is an enthusiastic eater, (can eat in her sleep, in fact) and frequently smacks her lips in satisfaction after a good meal. Generally a content baby, she is becoming increasingly generous with these huge, adorable grins that are about the cutest thing you have ever seen. However, when she's hungry or tired, it's not just a small matter...she is REEEAAAAALLLLLLLLY hungry or tired, and will let us know with these overly dramatic, sorrowful cries and frowns. Oh, the drama. Favorite past times at this juncture include playing on her rainforest activity mat and swinging (although this activity has to be curbed some since it often puts her to sleep.) She also has the prettiest blue eyes I've ever seen.
Riley continues be as alert and aware of her surroundings as she was the second she came out of the womb. She has no trouble staying up for awake time, and can entertain herself for long stretches of time, particularly with toys or activity mats that make music. She is somewhat indiscriminate at this point in her musical selection, and seems to enjoy the awful music that comes out of her swing (really, how hard would it be for the swing manufacturers to put good music on there!?!) almost as much a good guitar concert from her dad. She loves to kick and stand (with assistance, obviously :)) whenever possible, and occasionally has a hard time falling asleep - presumably because she doesn't want to miss anything. Although at times she has a tendency to be a bit temperamental, she is starting to reward us with her shy little smile more frequently, which is also just about the cutest thing ever.
We are enjoying our girls more every day, especially with the increasing feedback we're (finally!) getting from them!!

Baby Shower weekend!

This past weekend we hosted a baby shower for Amy & Tony and Dana & Adam. The theme was "Good Things Come in Small Packages," so of course all the decor and appetizers/desserts had to be miniature. (pics below...) We had a great time and missed the hostesses who weren't able to make the trip!

The parents to be...Amy and Tony are expecting a baby boy in March, and Dana and Adam will be welcoming a baby girl in April. Riley and Harper are super excited to have some friends on the way! :)

We played a version of the Newlywed game using baby-related questions. A pic of the happy couples, plus Todd.
A few pics of all the "mini" foods prepared for the shower...

Todd and Caleb...excited not only for the baby shower, but also the Bronco's game (as evidenced by the blue and orange beer, as well as the Broncos balloon purchased when they were sent out to pick up decorations for the party.)

Husband picture. Caleb, ever the cool guy.

More of the party decor, including tiny wrapped packages and mini bud vases (thanks Lacey and Ann!)

Crossing our fingers....

...that this is more than just coincidence: for the past four nights, our baby girls have BOTH gone 6-7 hours between feedings. That means there has only been one middle-of-the-night feeding instead of two....soooo much better! AND we aren't even supplementing them during that one, so it takes less than half an hour (instead of the normal 45-60 minutes.)

What a blissful four nights it has been!! :)
